Introduction
There are many groups and websites we like and have learned from. Here are some of them
Groups
10 Pines
In the longer term, one possibility is to run as a social enterprise along similar lines to 10Pines, an Argentine software company with a constructive structure and corporate ethos. (For a brief introduction to the company, have a look at the BBC article about it.)
BIGS
We aim to follow the BIGS Model for decision making, as described by Semco Style Institute: define clear and explicit Boundaries; provide everyone on the team with easy access to all relevant Information; work towards a few simple Goals; and provide an emotionally Safe environment in which people are free to explore and fail.
Co-Op
We draw upon many of the Rochdale Principles of the Co-operative movement.

Rationality
There are various people and groups which focus on reason and rationality. This is important but, for our purposes, insufficient - if you want to engage with the real world, then handling feelings, emotions, morality and irrationality well is also important. But there is benefit to be gained from a clear focus on reason and how to use it well when appropriate.
- Less Wrong: "LessWrong is an online forum and community dedicated to improving human reasoning and decision-making. We seek to hold true beliefs and to be effective at accomplishing our goals. Each day, we aim to be less wrong about the world than the day before."

There is nothing inherently wrong in helping other people accomplish their goals, but you do need to ask: are these goals going to harm other people, or wreck the planet? And determining (or challenging) goals cannot be achieved purely through the use of reason.
